This pages show an example of an Order Entry system using the WAP technology (Wireless Application Protocol ). Please refer to the Nokia Web site or the WAP forum site for detailed information on this topic.
Introduction.
Our sample is an Order Input application using WML and ASP language. Of course it's not complete by far, its purpose is just to show what can be done using these technologies. We wish you could use and test what we wrote and come back to us with some feedback. Please forward your remarks to info@corobori.com.
Testing.
This application was tested using the Nokia Developper Toolkit 1.3beta with the Nokia 7110 emulator, IIS 4.0 running on a Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP4. It's based upon the Northwind Ms Access Database bundled with Access 97. Two changes were done in this database, we changed some dates in the Orders table to 1999 and we added a work table called wkOrders with two fields EmployeeId and OrderId, the idea would we to allow a restart of the order in case of problems with the phone (not shown with this prototype).
Installation.
To enjoy the application on your workstation of course you have to install all what's described above plus the code and the database. Adjust the conNthWind.asp to reflect your installation for the database access. Fire off the Toolkit and enjoy the show. Click here to download the complete application
